Preschool Program (Ages 3-4) This 1 hour preschool program will provide many benefits to this age level. This is a non-threatening, interactive approach. Comprehensible step by step instruction learning the 5 basic elements of shape which will transfer into a realistic drawing, while developing eye hand coordination, fine motor skills, beginning math and reading skills. This class will also help with beginning writing skills. Classes are small so pre-registration is required. Parent & Child (Ages 4-7) A unique class designed to allow parents to experience the Monart method with their children by drawing along side of them. Parents are invited to attend this class, but do not have to attend. Getting Ready (Ages 4-6) An introduction to representational drawing, this class teaches students to master the ability to recognize the elements of shape in the visual world. In this class, our goal is to fine tune the essential tools, that are necessary for students to be successful, not only in art, but that transfers to any application. Tools that we focus on further developing are hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills, attention span and the ability to make independent choices. Basic Drawing (Ages 6-8) A representational drawing class that encompasses the interpretation of 2-D images and 3-D objects. Students will master the ability to independently recognize the elements of shape throughout the world that they live in. This class provides enough structure for success while encouraging individual creativity. Our goal is to advance our students skill sets to include artistic confidence, the ability to make independent and creative choices of composition, and the ability to practice consistency. Home School (Ages 4-7) An introduction to representational drawing geared to the attention span and fine motor coordination of a 4 to 7 year old. Students will develop their ability to recognize the elements of shape and learn how to translate every day objects on to paper. This class will also offer academic information on subjects such as literature, geography, math, science & more. Home School (Ages 8-12) This 1 & 1/2 hour class is geared for the attention span and motor coordination of an 8 to 12 years old. Students will learn the Monart drawing method and how to use the method to create drawings from a variety of realistic, abstract, and expressionistic styles. Lessons will introduce them to inspirations from 2Dimensional graphic materials, 3Dimensional objects, the human form, perspective, and proportion. This class will also offer academic information on subjects such as literature, geography, math, science & more. Drawing, Painting & Crafts (Ages 7-14) This 1 & 1/2 hour class will inspire students to use their creativity in an artistic setting. Students will draw using the Monart drawing method, paint on canvas, create crafts, and much more! Students will use a variety of media and techniques to help build a foundation of art skills that can be applied to other areas of their lives. Students will be encouraged to use their individual creativity to produce artwork they can be proud of. Throughout the course of this class students will be exposed to various fine art skills such as perspective, proportion, color theory, and more. Drawing Fundamentals (Ages 8 & up) An introduction to incorporating fine art skills of proportion, perspective, shading, light logic, and understanding the proportions of the human form, into the students’ representational drawings. This class has the same structure as basic drawing, but is designed for artists who are ready to enrich their artistic knowledge (background). This class teaches a progression of guided lessons towards independent drawing skills. Intermediate Drawing (Ages 10 & up) This class will incorporate skills achieved in drawing fundamentals with projects consisting of more complex components and details. An introduction to abstract and expressionistic styles of drawing, will allow for students to expand their art history background as well as gain a coherent understanding of their likes and dislikes. Students will be challenged to create projects individually and to achieve a consistent pattern of effort.
